A1

destroyed foam core, bristol, acrylic paint, polaroid

Inspired by the brutalist apartment buildings constructed when Romania was under communist rule, A1 is a reflection on the beauty of ruining something. In a city like mine, where every building was initially planned to look the same, the opposite seemed to happen. Over the years, each of them has grown to have their own character, due to cracks from earthquakes or different human interventions such as graffiti, unauthorized renovations, and political campaign posters stuck on every window.
